Reports to: Shift Supervisor/Production Manager
Objective: We have a Job Opportunity in WF10 as a tray wash team leader. The main priority is assisting the Day/Night Shift Manager in the day-to-day running of the RCI wash operation. You will be accountable and responsible for all duties pertaining to the smooth operational running of machines and/or area of control on your shift. Starting salary is £34,860.20 a year.
Shift patterns: The hours are 7-7 days then nights, on a 4 on 4 off pattern.
Key areas of responsibility:
- Production tracking of washed units numbers and achieving site performance and quality targets through effective and efficient planning and running of the shift.
- Understanding the health, safety and environment policy and ensuring the policy is brought to the attention of all employees, particularly new starters.
- Enforcing Health & Safety protocols to effectively protect staff, contractors and visitors.
- To be accountable and responsible for their own and others' health and safety.
- Motivating a team of operatives through good communication, training and development.
- Downtime capture of machine throughput.
- The implementation and monitoring of company processes and procedures and capturing all administration through to completion, including accurate and timely completion of management reports.
- Timely production of shift production planning prior to the next shift commencing.
- Provide cover for the supervisor/manager when required for liaising with customers and suppliers.
- Book agency employees based on agreed production planning for the next 24 hours against the manpower capture sheets.
- Checks that paid hours match hours worked and highlight any discrepancies to the supervisor/manager.
- Control the stock for the generation of purchase orders for your area; request purchase order raised in conjunction with the supervisor/manager.
- Monitor stock rotation through a FIFO system.
- To carry out quality control checks in line with processes.
- Carry out various hygiene tasks including the monitor and implementation of PPE equipment to all staff.
- Check pre-start checks on tray washing machines.
- Leading a team in a hands-on role, in the warehouse, logistics or manufacturing environment.
- Completing any JES audits against agreed schedules.
- Lead in the distribution of shift handover notes prior to shift commencement.
- Rotation and Organization of labour within their area of control.
- Communication with Customers when required.
- Ensure that general housekeeping adherence is maintained, including site cleanliness and individuals completing tasks that have been assigned to them in accordance with your time scales.
- Confirm new Young Workers are given additional support, training & confirm they have an experienced person with them until proficient.
- To ensure pre-shift inspections for MHE are carried out correctly and process is followed for VOR equipment.
- Ensuring all COSHH materials are stored correctly and have relevant MSDS sheets and risk assessments.
- Ensure all accidents and near miss events are reported immediately with sufficient root cause analysis documented and copies supplied to the SHE team.
- Ensure adequate fire safety arrangements are in place.
- Driving health and safety through the team with an infectious and passionate approach.
- When necessary, issue Point of work risk assessments or method statements for any ad hoc work.
- Ensuring all critical control documents and other records are maintained and updated daily. Ensure all statutory requirements are met.
