We're looking for an experienced Transport Planner to join a busy and fast-paced logistics operation. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with previous UK transport planning experience who enjoys problem-solving, thinking on their feet and keeping deliveries running smoothly.
What you'll be doing:
- Planning and coordinating approximately 13-15 daily vehicle routes across the UK.
- Optimising routes to ensure deliveries are completed efficiently and on time.
- Liaising with warehouse, customer service and sales teams.
- Working closely with third-party transport providers and couriers.
- Responding to changes throughout the day, including urgent orders and delivery issues.
- Supporting the day-to-day running of the transport department.
- Ensuring excellent customer service and operational efficiency.
What we're looking for:
- Previous experience as a Transport Planner within a busy logistics or distribution environment.
- Experience planning nationwide UK multi-drop routes.
- Excellent geographical knowledge of the UK.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to make decisions and prioritise workload in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience using Transport Management Systems (TMS) and Microsoft Office.
Desirable:
- Experience within next-day distribution.
- Knowledge of pallet networks and third-party courier operations.
