The role

We’re now looking for a motivated Commercial Account Handler, to join the team here at the Jensten Group. You’ll be based at our Watnall office, and we offer hybrid working options. Reporting to the General Manager, the main purpose of the role is to focus on our Commercial Insurance book of business which is mainly made up of 'wheel based' clients- working mainly on renewals.

Some key objectives & responsibilities will include:

  • To understand client’s business operations, opportunities and risks and their approach to risk management and insurance.
  • Offer and present insurance solutions including insurance policies and other risk management solutions, with purpose to secure renewal and/or new business.
  • To assist in team performance by regular communication with colleagues and manager to establish and raise concerns and provide solutions.
  • Negotiation of competitive terms with the product/service providers in order to satisfy client requirements.
  • Handling invoicing of all premiums due including effective credit control, where necessary.
  • To ensure compliance with local procedures, customer service standards and external compliance regulations, e.g. FCA.

About you

As one of our Account Handlers, you’ll have excellent communication and written skills with a keen eye for detail. You will be the type of person who wants to constantly develop, and you can expect fantastic career progression, training & development within the role and Insurance Industry in general. You will also be or have:

  • Good general insurance background and knowledge - in Commercial Insurance (essential).
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g Cert CII) or working towards.
  • Great customer service skills.
  • Excellent telephone manner, being able to network & build working relationships easily.
  • Drive and genuine passion to learn and develop within Insurance.
  • Worked in a similar role previously, with experience of working with Insurers and clients.
  • Able to use initiative and can multi-task, updating relevant systems and admin.
  • Acturis systems knowledge & experience (ideally).
