The role involves supporting the Broking team in a client-facing and back-office support capacity. Responsibilities include providing exceptional customer service, conducting market research, and assisting clients with Casualty insurance products. You will help senior brokers manage client portfolios, prepare MRC slips, and ensure accurate documentation is submitted timely.
Relationship management is crucial, requiring the development and maintenance of strong relationships with clients and underwriters. Key objectives and responsibilities include:
- Monitoring and following up on updates to the new and renewal business spreadsheet.
- Proactively managing post-quote follow-up and progression of new business and renewal quotes.
- Taking ownership of remarketing or re-broking of new and renewal business.
- Contributing to the Division’s income function by ensuring renewal retention exceeds divisional targets.
- Engaging with the Business Development Team on specific cases.
- Ensuring compliance with internal procedures and external regulations.
As an Assistant Broker, you should have excellent communication and written skills, a keen eye for detail, and a background in Commercial Insurance (ideally London Markets). You will thrive in a dynamic small team and be able to explain complex insurance products simply. Ideal qualifications include:
- Insurance background - Commercial essential, with Casualty ideal.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., Cert CII) or working towards them.
- Great customer service skills and excellent telephone manner.
- Drive and passion to learn and develop within Insurance.
- Experience in a similar role, working with Insurers and clients.
- Ability to use initiative and multi-task.
- Knowledge of Acturis systems (ideally).
