The Role

NCinsurance, now proudly part of the Jensten Group, are looking for a motivated individual ready to progress their career in insurance as an Account Handler at our friendly Gateshead office. You’ll play a key role in supporting and growing a commercial book, by assisting and building strong relationships with our Account Executives, clients and trusted insurers.

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Presenting tailored insurance and risk management solutions to secure renewals and win new business
  • Supporting team performance through regular communication, raising concerns early and offering solutions
  • Identifying cross‑sell and up‑sell opportunities
  • Making effective use of leads and developing new approaches to increase quote volume
  • Achieving or exceeding agreed targets for quotes, sales and income across various marketing channels
  • Developing a clear understanding of each client’s needs, risks and approach to insurance
  • Ensuring compliance with internal processes, excellent customer service standards and FCA regulations

About You

As an Account Handler at NCinsurance, you’ll be someone with strong communication skills, attention to detail and a desire to grow within the insurance sector. We’ll support you with excellent training, development opportunities and long‑term career progression—both within Northern Counties and across the wider Jensten Group. We’re looking for someone who has:

  • Experience of account management in insurance, preferably in commercial
  • Relevant qualifications such as Cert CII, or the ambition to work towards them
  • A confident telephone manner and the ability to build strong relationships
  • Drive, curiosity and a passion for learning
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask and maintain accurate system records
