The role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Account Handler to join Simpson & Parsons, part of the Jensten Group. Established in 1983 in the English Lake District, we are known for reliable, high-quality service provided by knowledgeable advisors in Commercial and Personal Lines Insurance. The successful candidate will report to the General Manager and be based at our Windermere office.
Key responsibilities include:
- Offering and presenting insurance solutions, including policies and risk management options, to secure renewals and new business.
- Assisting team performance through regular communication with colleagues and managers, raising concerns, and providing solutions.
- Identifying and pursuing cross-selling and up-selling opportunities, utilizing company leads, and developing new ways to increase quote volume.
- Achieving or exceeding targets for quotes, sales, and income from all marketing sources, including personal prospecting.
- Understanding clients’ business operations, opportunities, risks, and their approach to risk management and insurance.
- Ensuring compliance with local procedures, customer service standards, and external regulations such as FCA.

- An insurance background
- Cert CII or willingness to obtain it
- Strong customer service skills
- An excellent telephone manner and ability to build relationships
- Drive and passion for learning in insurance
- Experience in a similar role working with insurers and clients
- Initiative and multi-tasking skills, with proficiency in updating systems and admin
- Knowledge of Acturis systems (desirable)
