The role involves working as an Account Handler (Commercial Insurance) at the Jensten Group, primarily focusing on the Renewals book of business while also having the opportunity to engage with New Business elements. The main purpose of the role is to retain and renew clients from the book of business, handle midterm adjustments, and assist with client queries.
Some key objectives and responsibilities include:
- Offering and presenting insurance solutions, including policies and risk management solutions, to secure renewals and/or new business.
- Assisting in team performance through regular communication with colleagues and managers to raise concerns and provide solutions.
- Identifying and pursuing cross-selling, up-selling, and similar opportunities.
- Utilising leads provided by the company and developing new ways to increase quote volume.
- Achieving or exceeding agreed volumes of Quotes/Sales/Income from all marketing sources, including personal prospecting activity.
- Negotiating competitive terms with product/service providers to satisfy client requirements.
- Handling invoicing of premiums due, including effective credit control when necessary.
- Understanding clients' business operations, opportunities, risks, and their approach to risk management and insurance.
- Ensuring compliance with local procedures, customer service standards, and external compliance regulations, e.g., FCA.
As an Account Handler, you should possess excellent communication and written skills, a keen eye for detail, and a desire for continuous development. You will ideally have:
- An insurance background, especially in Commercial (essential).
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., Cert CII) or be working towards them (ideally).
- Great customer service skills.
- An excellent telephone manner, with the ability to network and build working relationships easily.
- A drive and genuine passion to learn and develop within the insurance sector.
- Experience in a similar role, working with insurers and clients.
- The ability to use initiative and multi-task, updating relevant systems and admin.
- Knowledge and experience of Acturis systems (ideally).
