Task Talent Recruitment Ltd (Company No. 15839695) is a UK recruitment agency supplying permanent, contract and temporary candidates across multiple sectors. As we grow our business development team, we're looking for self-employed appointment setters and BDRs to find and open conversations with new client companies throughout the UK.
The Role
This is a remote, self-employed, commission-only position, suited to an experienced telesales, appointment-setting or business development professional who wants earnings with no upper limit and complete freedom over when and how they work.
Your job is to find prospective client companies, reach out by phone, email or LinkedIn, and book qualified appointments for our team to take forward. If you've got recruitment sales experience and would rather own the full process, there's a path to Set-and-Close status, where you look after the client relationship through to a signed placement and earn a considerably higher commission rate.
Day-to-day responsibilities
- Researching and identifying target client companies using approved data sources
- Contacting key decision-makers by phone, email and LinkedIn
- Qualifying leads and booking appointments for our recruitment team
- (Set-and-Close track) Taking the client relationship through to a completed placement
- Recording all activity accurately in our CRM
What we're looking for
- A track record in telesales, appointment setting, business development or B2B sales (recruitment experience is a strong advantage)
- A confident, professional phone manner and strong written communication skills
- Self-motivation, and comfort managing your own pipeline and time as a self-employed contractor
- UK-based, with a good grasp of UK telemarketing compliance (CTPS, PECR), or a willingness to be trained on it

Compensation: On-Target Earnings (OTE)
As this is a self-employed, commission-only role, your income depends on performance rather than a fixed salary. To give you a realistic picture of what's achievable:
- Appointment Setting only (30%) · 1 placement/month, at National Living Wage full-time salary (£26,436.80/yr), on our lowest 12% fee band · ~£951/month
- Set-and-Close (50%) · Same placement (1/month, National Living Wage salary, 12% band) · ~£1,586/month
These figures use our lowest fee band and just one placement per month, which we see as a realistic starting expectation rather than a best-case outcome. They are illustrative and not guaranteed earnings. Commission is uncapped: higher-salaried roles, multiple placements in a month, or progressing to Set-and-Close status will all raise what you can earn. We're happy to discuss realistic upside at interview.
