At the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team, a group of passionate and determined people work to design, develop, manufacture and race the cars with the aim of fighting for world championships each and every year. The role: We have an exciting opening for an experienced F1 Aerodynamicist to join one of our development groups. As an Aerodynamicist, you will work collaboratively as part of a small team, applying your thoughtful and curious nature to a range of stimulating challenges. By interpreting trends and developing understanding, you will create innovative engineering solutions to real problems. As a valued member of our Aerodynamics Department, your ideas and skills will make a tangible contribution to the Team.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing aerodynamic concepts.
- Improving our understanding of flow structures.
- Creating and collaborating on innovative solutions.
- Surfacing designs.
- Testing your ideas in CFD and in the wind tunnel.
- Interpreting results from our state-of-the-art facilities.
- Enhancing the tools that you and your colleagues use to find performance.

What we are looking for: It is essential that you have:
- Professional experience working in the Formula One Aerodynamics, using experimental and/or CFD methods to develop concepts that improve car performance.
- A good understanding of aerodynamics, seeing both the big picture and the fine detail.
Your open and honest communication style and broad overview of your subject mean you relish collaborating in a team setting and enjoy discussing technical concepts. You are equally comfortable working on your own, applying your reflective nature, interpretive skills, attention to detail and dependable judgment to understand complicated engineering problems then propose and evaluate viable solutions in a timely fashion.
