Exceptional opportunity for a brand passionate, creatively-driven FMCG marketer and innovation specialist to join the team driving the growth of retail brands for one of the global leaders in the beverages market, with a presence on the high street and retailers across the globe. Experience working in partnership with other organisations, either in a royalty/licensing based structure, or joint promotional initiatives would be a significant bonus.

Since its launch a few years ago, the business has skyrocketed and is now a major player in its category, the brand available to 10’s of millions of consumers, who are enjoying the taste and quality of its products in-home and on-the-go.

In this key role, working in a dynamic head office team, you will play a leading role in defining and delivering a 3 years innovation pipeline, including brand extensions and packaging initiatives, working closely with the company’s global licensing and manufacturing partner, collaborating on NPD and EPD initiatives that drive consumer trial and interest, and build the brand across all key markets.

Key Responsibilities & Actions

Product Innovation Management

  • Owning and managing the 3-year global pipeline and plans, ensuring they are anchored in robust consumer, category and commercial insights.
  • Leading innovation & renovation initiatives, orchestrating product development, packaging, and marketing to deliver the agreed plan and post launch recaps, identifying opportunities and next steps.
  • Collaborating and managing the day-to-day governance for the brand in conjunction with the global partner, to drive alignment and buy in, and develop best in class product formulations.

Business Management

  • In conjunction with the global partner, supporting the senior team to shape the global brand strategy & business plans.
  • Driving high level global category, consumer, competitor understanding, and identifying and communicating key insights, risks & opportunities to inform strategy and plans.
  • As part of the global team, partnering with regional channel teams to align on new strategies and plans and provide any local innovation support.

Strategic Product Marketing Management

  • Supporting the senior manager, to shape core brand and channel platform strategies and growth plans.
  • Developing a deep understanding of categories, consumers and market trends to ensure the latest thinking.
  • Partnering with other company divisions to help unlock innovation initiative synergies.

Partnership Management

  • Being a key driver in ensuring a strong, long-term strategic and operational relationship with the brand partner, acting as the conduit between the 2 organisations.
  • Be a leading brand steward, championing brand guardrails, ensuring ‘on brand’ plans and brand expression across creative, innovation and packaging and facilitating deep brand understanding amongst company and partner teams.

With a strong academic background and a track record of delivering successful innovation and packaging development strategies, you will already be seen as a high achiever and creative thinker who brings ideas and flair to projects. You will thrive in a fast paced, action-driven culture with extensive exposure to senior management.

  • Classically-trained, blue-chip FMCG brand management and innovation experience, ideally working at both local and regional/global levels.
  • Experience leading brand & product innovation initiatives – NPD, EPD and range extensions.
  • Hand-on experience building and working with business partnerships/joint ventures.
  • Well-rounded marketer proficient in all elements of the commercial marketing mix.
  • Brand custodian who is passionate about championing the consumer and building/nurturing brands.
  • Culturally sensitive, able to builds trust and influence key stakeholders across levels, regions and cultures.
  • Strong vision-setting & communication skills – both orally & in writing. Someone who wins hearts & minds.
  • Drives dynamic decision-making balancing insights with real world experience and knowledge.
  • Agile, entrepreneurial and creative approach, happy to roll sleeves up to get the job done.
