We’re working with a well-established architectural practice based in central Edinburgh, recognised for delivering medium to large-scale residential-led developments across the UK. Their portfolio includes Build to Rent, PBSA, affordable housing, co-living and later living schemes, with an increasing focus on modern methods of construction and modular delivery. Due to continued project growth, they are seeking an Architectural Technologist or Architectural Technician to join the team and support the delivery of technically complex residential projects.

The Role

You’ll work closely with a senior job runner, supporting the technical development and coordination of projects, with a particular focus on cladding and envelope packages. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to strengthen their technical expertise within a collaborative and design-conscious studio environment. The role will involve detailed coordination with consultants, contractors and specialist suppliers, helping ensure projects are delivered efficiently, accurately and in line with technical and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in the development and coordination of technical design packages
  • Supporting the delivery of façade and cladding detailing packages
  • Producing and coordinating technical drawings and construction information
  • Liaising with consultants, contractors and specialist subcontractors
  • Assisting with technical compliance and buildability reviews
  • Supporting projects across a range of residential typologies and delivery models
  • Contributing to the smooth progression of projects through technical stages

About You

  • Experience working as an Architectural Technologist or Architectural Technician within UK practice
  • Strong technical and detailing skills, ideally within residential projects
  • Exposure to cladding, façade or envelope packages would be highly advantageous
  • Good understanding of UK Building Regulations and construction detailing
  • Confident communicator and collaborative team player
  • Interest in modern methods of construction and modular systems beneficial
  • Proficiency in relevant technical software (Revit preferred)
