As the demand for high-quality EV infrastructure grows, the business is expanding its commercial and estimating capability and is now seeking an Estimator or Senior Estimator to join their thriving EV team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong civils or infrastructure background who enjoys technical detail, commercial responsibility and influencing the success of bids at an early stage.
The Role
You’ll play a key part in assessing bids, preparing tenders and supporting the commercial strategy for EV infrastructure projects nationwide. Working closely with engineering, project and commercial teams, you’ll help shape proposals that deliver safe, buildable and commercially attractive solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Reviewing tender opportunities and supporting bid / no-bid decisions
- Evaluating client documents for completeness, risk and design clarity
- Producing detailed Bills of Quantities for civils pricing and building up rates from first principles
- Preparing tender submissions and supporting technical and commercial documentation
- Delivering post-tender presentations to clients
- Working with drawings, specifications and standards to develop accurate cost models
- Supporting continuous improvement across estimating processes and workflows
- Liaising with project teams to ensure robust planning, sequencing and buildability
This role offers room to operate at either Estimator or Senior Estimator level, depending on experience.
About You
- Strong estimating background within civils, utilities or infrastructure projects
- Knowledge of how electrical infrastructure is built, maintained and operated, with awareness of DNO or National Grid standards
- Commercially aware with experience of NEC, ICE or JCT contracts
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, able to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels
- Highly organised, detail-focused and comfortable managing changing workloads
- Strong IT skills, particularly in Word, Excel and Outlook
- Motivated to contribute to the delivery of safe, sustainable EV projects
Why This Role?
This is a chance to take a central role in one of the UK's fastest-growing infrastructure sectors. You’ll join a collaborative team with a clear mission to support national Net Zero goals, with strong career progression available for both emerging and experienced estimators. Hybrid working is available and flexible, but they would ideally like you to work from the office around twice a week.
