We’re working with a well-established, top AJ100, award-winning UK architecture practice that is expanding its international portfolio. With active residential projects now underway in Australia, the practice is seeking an experienced Senior Architect to support the design and delivery of medium to large-scale housing and mixed-use schemes from its UK studios. This is a rare opportunity to play a key role in the early growth of an international studio presence, while remaining embedded within a collaborative UK-based team.
The Role
You’ll lead the day-to-day delivery of residential and mixed-use projects, initially focused on international housing schemes. While early involvement will centre on concept and early design stages, the role requires someone confident working across all RIBA stages, able to support projects as they progress through technical delivery and construction. Working closely with a project leader and senior colleagues, you’ll coordinate with overseas teams, clients and consultants across different time zones, requiring a flexible and pragmatic approach to working hours.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading project delivery across RIBA Stages 1–5, ensuring design quality and programme alignment
- Coordinating multidisciplinary consultant teams and managing client liaison
- Driving strong design thinking alongside buildable, technically robust solutions
- Championing BIM/Revit standards, technical quality and documentation
- Managing resources, programme, risk and fee performance
- Supporting bids, fee proposals and work-winning activity
- Mentoring and supporting junior team members in a collaborative studio environment
- Confidently presenting to clients and stakeholder groups
About You
- ARB registered (or overseas equivalent)
- Typically 5–10 years post-Part 3 experience on residential or mixed-use projects
- Experience across all RIBA work stages (international experience highly advantageous)
- Strong design sensibility paired with solid technical delivery skills
- Advanced Revit/BIM capability; confident with SketchUp, AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite
- Good understanding of UK regulations and delivery routes; ability to work with international partners
- Calm, client-focused and comfortable coordinating across time zones
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage workloads and support inclusive ways of working
Why This Role?
This role offers the chance to work on high-profile international housing projects while remaining part of a supportive, design-led UK practice. You’ll have early influence on projects at concept stage, with long-term involvement through delivery, and the opportunity to help shape the future direction of a growing international portfolio.
