We are looking for a proactive and experienced HSE Advisor to join our North & Scotland business, supporting operations across Scotland and the Northeast of England. This is a key role where you will provide both strategic support and constructive challenge to operational teams, helping ensure the effective delivery of Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) standards across multiple sites. Working closely with site leadership, wider business functions, and external stakeholders including regulatory bodies and contractors, you will play a vital role in shaping a strong safety culture and driving continuous improvement across the region.

What You’ll Be Doing

As an HSE Advisor, you will be instrumental in supporting and enhancing HSEQ performance across your area. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Helping to shape and deliver the HSE strategy across multiple operational sites
  • Providing expert guidance and support to management teams to effectively manage risk and improve performance
  • Partnering with stakeholders to support projects from planning through to successful delivery
  • Acting as a representative in discussions with regulatory bodies and external stakeholders
  • Reviewing, analysing and reporting on performance data, including incidents and safety observations
  • Supporting incident investigations, including root cause analysis and implementation of preventative actions
  • Carrying out site inspections and audits, producing clear reports and tracking corrective actions
  • Supporting site management systems and contributing to external certification audits

We’re seeking a motivated and capable HSE professional who can build strong relationships and positively influence at all levels. You will bring:

  • Strong communication skills, with the confidence to challenge existing practices and drive improvement
  • The ability to build effective relationships and adapt your approach to different audiences
  • Resilience and flexibility, with the ability to perform in a fast-paced, multi-site environment
  • Good legislative knowledge and a commitment to keeping this up to date
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively
  • Analytical thinking, with the ability to identify issues early and implement practical solutions
  • A collaborative approach, building rapport with both operational teams and stakeholders

You should also have:

  • Previous experience in a site-based or multi-site HSE role (typically gained over several years)
  • Environmental knowledge, including understanding of regulatory requirements and permits
  • Experience delivering training and coaching individuals and teams
