We are currently recruiting for a Laboratory Manager to join our team based at our National Laboratory. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in establishing and leading a brand-new Technical Centre, supporting innovation and excellence across the business. Additional travel will be expected; of which a company car will be included.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading and developing the laboratory team while overseeing the day-to-day running of the laboratory
- Managing the laboratory facility and site health, safety and security
- Ensuring the delivery of a high-quality service to internal customers
- Working closely with Regional and Area Technical Managers to support innovation and technical development
- Delivering multi-disciplinary technical training across the business
- Supporting the technical and personal development of the team
- Identifying future testing requirements and planning resources accordingly
- Driving the strategic development of laboratory systems and infrastructure
- Managing laboratory budgets effectively and efficiently
- Maintaining and improving laboratory IT systems
- Building and managing strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors
- Driving performance and quality, managing KPIs
- Investigating new methods and equipment to enhance accuracy and efficiency
