About the Role
Reporting into the Accounts Payable Lead, the successful Accounts Payable Administrator will be ensuring both the accurate and timely processing of supplier payments in accordance with company policies and controls. You will also be playing a key role in maintaining strong vendor relationships, supporting internal stakeholders and safeguarding the business against financial risk.
What you'll be doing
- Processing supplier payments accurately via BACS and direct bank transfers
- Working on the daily upload of payments into the Supplier Finance portal
- Ensuring all payments are supported by appropriate approvals and documentation
- Creating and processing manual and ad hoc payments in line with the internal controls framework
- Administering the shared Accounts Payable and Payment Request mailboxes, ensuring timely and professional responses to vendor queries
- Acting as the first line of defence against payment fraud by conducting rigorous checks and escalating suspicious activity
- Ensuring adherence to internal financial controls, audit requirements, and regulatory standards
- Reconciling supplier statements and providing feedback on outstanding balances
Please note that this position is for a 12-month fixed-term contract.
