We are looking for an experienced Service Delivery Coordinator or Planner to join a fast-paced Readymix team. The role is based at Tarmac Agecroft in Salford, and is commutable from Manchester, Bolton, Oldham, Rochdale, Wigan, Stockport, Warrington and surrounding areas. The ideal candidate will enjoy multi-tasking, engaging with customers, taking orders, providing updates and guidance, and will be comfortable working in a dynamic environment where no two days are the same.
Overview
- Position: ReadyMix Concrete Planner
- Location: Salford (Agecroft) with coverage across the Greater Manchester area
- Shift: Monday – Friday rotating pattern (7:00–16:30 or 8:00–17:30) and Saturday mornings when required (approx. once per month)
Main Responsibilities
- Reporting to the Distribution Manager, process orders and coordinate day-to-day ReadyMix concrete deliveries via Tarmac-owned and third-party hauliers
- Engage with customers to receive and process ReadyMix concrete orders
- Schedule delivery times in line with customer expectations
- Collaborate with the distribution team and wider area transport team to provide a cost-effective, sustainable, safe and customer-focused operation
- Ensure compliance with statutory, industry and Tarmac standards for all contract and/or third-party hauliers
- Negotiate contracts and build relationships with Third Party haulage suppliers
- Work with the Logistics and Production Managers to create medium- to long-term plans to meet demand
The Ideal Candidate
- Experience in a similar role or industry providing support to a wider team; distribution/route planning experience in an office environment is desirable
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to build rapport with customers and colleagues
- Collaborative, with the ability to challenge processes constructively
- Flexible and adaptable approach to work
- Excellent customer service skills for internal and external stakeholders
- Strong problem-solving skills, numeracy and analytical ability
- Commercially minded with a drive to improve and lead change
- Ambition to learn and achieve personal and business goals
- Working knowledge of Microsoft IT packages (SAP and CRM systems preferred)
