Are you an experienced and dynamic Plant Manager looking for your next permanent role? We are currently recruiting for a Plant Manager to join our friendly team at our Linford Block Plant, located close to Stanford-le-Hope in Essex. The site is easily accessible from various areas including Tilbury, Gravesend, Rochester, Gillingham, Dartford, Purfleet on Thames, Grays, Wickford, Southend-on-Sea, Basildon, Brentwood, Billericay and the surrounding areas.

Our Linford Plant manufactures sustainable, tough and energy efficient aerated blocks that are prevalent in both homes and work environments. Here at Tarmac, we are working hard to create a dynamic and inclusive environment, valuing diversity in our workforce.

Main Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Senior Site Manager, the Plant Manager will provide excellent customer service by delivering a world-class operation focused on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and maintain a safe and sustainable environment for the workforce.
  • Lead and sustain change in a unionised environment.
  • Manage and develop the capabilities of your team to build a high performing workforce with a culture of delivery and accountability.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement activity at the site.
  • Manage the site budget and drive EBITDA.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental legislation.
  • Provide operational reports on site performance.
  • Achieve all production and quality targets.
  • Develop and implement capital investment projects to improve safety and performance across the site.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Proven experience of managing a large production facility.
  • Engineering and project management experience is desirable.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to influence others.
  • A desire to develop the site's engineering capability and understanding of engineering as a value-add activity.
