While the role will involve some selling and converting enquiries into sales, the primary focus is on day-to-day distribution. This includes planning and coordinating deliveries, maximising loads from each truck, and ensuring excellent customer service throughout the order and delivery process. Strong verbal communication and problem-solving skills are therefore essential.

We are currently looking for a Distribution and Sales Coordinator to join our friendly C&H Readymix (RMX) team based at our Costessey site, close to Norwich. This role is easily commutable from Norwich, Dereham, Fakenham, Drayton, Taverham, Aylsham, Wymondham, Cringleford, Attleborough, Spixworth, Poringland, and surrounding areas.

The Role

As a Distribution and Sales Coordinator, you will have experience in a similar environment, providing distribution planning and sales support, working closely with logistics, production, and customer service teams across the Tarmac group. The role is largely operational, with responsibility for coordinating daily deliveries efficiently while ensuring customer requirements are met.

Key Responsibilities (not exhaustive)

  • Coordinate the distribution and delivery of our Readymix (RMX) product range to customers
  • Plan and schedule deliveries to maximise vehicle utilisation and efficiency, ensuring the best use of available trucks
  • Accurately process orders, delivery schedules, and changes, ensuring all information is correct and up to date
  • Act as the key point of contact for customers regarding order scheduling, delivery times, and queries
  • Support the pricing and raising of quotes and follow these through to order conversion where required
  • Work with the team to convert enquiries into orders, responding to inbound calls and emails in a professional and timely manner
  • Maintain excellent customer service standards, demonstrating a confident and friendly telephone manner
  • Resolve delivery, scheduling, or order issues promptly using strong problem-solving skills
  • Prioritise and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with drivers, internal teams, and customers
  • Develop product and industry knowledge to better understand customer needs and support sales activity where appropriate

Please note: Due to the location of the site, candidates must be able to travel to the work location without the use of public transport.

The Ideal Candidate

It is preferred that the successful candidate for the role of Distribution and Sales Coordinator will have experience in the following:

  • SAP, CRM, and Microsoft IT systems
  • Distribution planning, logistics coordination, or order scheduling
  • Working collaboratively within a team to deliver high service levels
  • Building positive relationships with customers and internal stakeholders
  • Managing competing priorities while maintaining attention to detail

In addition, you will have:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving ability
  • Confidence dealing with customers by phone and email
  • Good numeracy and analytical skills
  • A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop
