Work on real projects, gain hands‑on experience, and learn from the best as you help shape the new era of construction. We are recruiting a Graduate Process Engineer to join our Cement and Packed Products Team at Tunstead Cement Plant near Buxton. The role is part of the UK and Ireland Cement, Lime and Packed division and will be part of a 3‑year graduate scheme.
Responsibilities
- Gain a detailed understanding of cement engineering, manufacturing and production through a dedicated Tarmac development programme and CRH international technical programme.
- Participate in on‑site work, contributing to continuous plant performance, addressing production and process bottlenecks to improve output, stability and environmental aspects.
- After the first three years, gain experience on plants across the UK and Ireland cluster or engage in an international assignment.
- Assist in tracking key process parameters and analysing data to optimise plant performance, making recommendations for modifications.
- Apply all safety policies, procedures and practices, and lead and drive safety standards and improvements.
- Participate in root cause analysis to understand costs and business impacts of un‑planned downtime.
- Play a key role in important projects to improve processes and deliver added value.
- Take pride in all work completed and show determination to succeed.
Development
Graduates will be supported through training, ongoing support and opportunities to work on exciting projects. The Graduate Core Skills Development Programme will boost business knowledge, strengthen soft skills and connect you with other graduates and leaders across Tarmac.
