We are currently looking for a Metal Fabricator – Assistant Sign Shop Technician to be based at our Leyton Depot in Walthamstow. The role is easily commutable from Wanstead, Walthamstow, Stratford, Hackney, Tottenham, North Finchley, Edmonton, Enfield, Loughton, Chigwell, Ilford, Dagenham, Cricklewood, Barnet and nearby areas.

Main Responsibilities

  • Learn to produce and fabricate signs and other traffic-related products using the correct materials.
  • Ensure that all aspects of routine and non-routine maintenance on our signs in the workshop are carried out.
  • Contribute to a strong and highly valued Sign Shop Service through the fabrication of signs and their installation.
  • Maintain records of completed works and accurately record any amendments.
  • Use electrical, mechanical, and hand tools to cut, shape, and assemble signs.
  • Ensure all work is carried out and documented in line with company SHE policies.

The Ideal Candidate

To be successful in the role of Metal Fabricator – Assistant Sign Shop Technician, you should possess proven experience of sign making or have transferable skills. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and work to tight tolerances (beneficial).
  • Full UK manual car driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points (highly desirable).
  • Experience with manual handling, abrasive wheel, and first aid at work.
  • Computer literacy to complete scheduled and emergency tasks while documenting works.
