What You’ll Be Doing
- Reporting into the Technical Manager, the role of Technician will be responsible for sampling and testing of various construction materials (aggregates and asphalt) on a daily basis where accuracy will be paramount.
- Testing will be carried out to the highest safety standards and within your manual handling capabilities.
- At times, visiting other Tarmac sites to carry out various sampling and testing duties.
- The majority of material testing carried out within the laboratory, which will include ovens, furnaces, sieves, weighing apparatus, and other scientific based equipment.
- Ensuring the quality of the materials is monitored at all times for both internal and external customers.
- Adhering to company Health and Safety procedures at all times.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience of aggregate and/or asphalt testing and production or materials testing environment, ideally gained within construction or a related sector.
- Hard‑working, reliable and self‑motivated.
- Confident communicating with colleagues and stakeholders at different levels.
- Accurate, methodical and able to spot potential quality risks (full training provided).
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a wider multi‑site team.
- IT‑literate, with a good numerical ability for calculations and interpreting results.
- Flexible in your approach and positive about supporting operational needs.
- Naturally Health and Safety conscious.
