We are currently looking for a Multi Skilled Quarry Operative to join our fantastic team at our Mountsorrel Quarry, in Quorn, near to Loughborough in Leicestershire. This role is commutable from Quorn, Loughborough, Leicester, Melton Mowbray, Coalville, Shepshed, Syston, Glenfield, Ibstock, Sileby, Kegworth, Nottingham, Derby, Grantham, Matlock, Tunstead, Dene, Ashbourne, Oakham, Bardon Hill and the surrounding areas.

Main Responsibilities
Reporting directly to Quarry Supervisors. The Multi Skilled Quarry Operative will work on the day-to-day operations driving mobile plant as part of the Quarry load and haul fleet.
Your responsibilities as the Multi Skilled Quarry Operative will include (not exhaustive):
Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality responsibilities
Follow SHE policies and procedures
Operating Mobile plant/Fixed plant on site
Assist the Supervisor with meeting daily/weekly production targets
Ensure plant conforms with safety requirements at all times
Inspections on the plant, reporting defects and assisting to implement remedial action
Ensure that plant availability is maximised
Working to keep housekeeping around site to a high standardThe Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate proven experience working within an Industrial, Factory or similar environment as an operative or labourer. As well as possess good communication skills and have a real desire in developing both operative and supervisory skills.
To succeed in the role of a Multi Skilled Quarry Operative the following is what we are looking for in a future colleague:
Knowledge of mobile and/or fixed plant
Mobile plant licences including: Rigid Dump Truck licence – (Highly desirable), Wheeled loading shovel, Excavator etc.
Experience of working in a quarry load & haul fleet
Good Timekeeping
Good Communication skills – bringing problems to the attention of Line Management
Previous experience in mobile plant operations
Full UK Driving Licence
IT Literate (Preferable) Previous experience as a Multi Skilled Quarry Operative working in a Plant/Quarry environment would prove highly beneficial; but this is not essential as training will be given to the right candidate.
