We are currently looking for a Foreman to join our amazing team based out of our Tarmac 'Hub' in Mountsorrel, Quorn, near to Loughborough, Leicestershire. This is a mobile role and site-based work will be required. This role is easily accessible from Quorn, Loughborough, Leicester, Melton Mowbray, Coalville, Shepshed, Syston, Glenfield, Ibstock, Sileby, Kegworth, Nottingham, Derby, Grantham, Matlock, Tunstead, Derby, Dene, Ashbourne, Oakham, Bardon Hill and the surrounding areas.

Main Responsibilities

As a working Foreman, you will be responsible for the safe operation of the surfacing sites that your crew works on, to the highest quality standards. You will monitor and oversee your crew on site and as Foreman your duties will include:

  • Adherence to Health, Safety and Environmental regulations
  • Delivery of the start of shift briefings including the vehicle & pedestrian management plan.
  • Ensuring all sub-contractors on site are authorised, required permits are issued and plant check lists are completed
  • Ensuring all plant & equipment is inspected and maintained by the operators, is used in a safe manner in accordance with on-site rules and company procedures
  • Liaising with the Client Representative and Site Supervisor to agree on the best way to safely undertake the works required, ensuring a high level of customer service and satisfaction
  • Ensuring the specification is complied with and produce site records such as levels, kerb checks, materials checks, monitoring of paving, rolling & density and site vacation checks
  • Completion of daily time sheets and BPO report
  • Managing your operatives including holiday and absence management
The Ideal Candidate

To be successful in the role of Foreman you will need to be experienced in machine lay asphalt works and have knowledge of all aspects of the surfacing operation. The ideal candidate for the role of Foreman you will also:

  • Have experience of working with and overseeing operations of teams
  • Have experience of operating surfacing equipment
  • Be flexible in your working approach
  • Be able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Be motivated and able to work within set time frames and achieve agreed production targets
  • Have good communication skills and be able to liaise with stakeholders of varying seniority levels
  • Be compliant of Health and Safety policies and procedures and proactive in encouraging your team to do the same
  • Basic computer / I.T. literacy
