Are you an experienced HGV Driver looking for a role where safety, teamwork and professionalism really matter? At Tarmac, we’re looking for a committed HGV Driver to join our team based in Market Rasen, Lincolnshire. This is a varied and operationally critical role, supporting road planing operations and helping to keep our worksites running safely, smoothly and on time.

As our HGV Driver, you’ll report into the Transport Manager and play a key role in day‑to‑day operations. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out regular checks on lorries and trailers, reporting defects promptly to the fitter and office
  • Ensuring all journeys are completed safely, legally and in line with driving regulations
  • Planning journeys in accordance with STGO Category 2 movement orders to ensure planers arrive on site for the correct shift start times
  • Liaising closely with the Planer Foreman and Operatives to ensure effective teamwork on site
  • Transporting planed materials from site to designated tipping locations
  • Accurately recording planing loads and tip details on load transfer tickets and returning these to the office
  • Complying with company standards and procedures and maintaining regular communication with the NRP Transport Manager

This role involves day and night working, weekend working, and occasional staying away during the week, depending on operational requirements.

We’re seeking a reliable and safety‑focused HGV Driver who brings:

  • Previous HGV driving experience
  • A strong understanding of health and safety requirements
  • A professional, team‑focused approach to working on site and with colleagues
  • Experience of site work involving road planers would be beneficial, but it’s not essential — what matters most is the right attitude and a commitment to safe, high‑quality delivery.
