We’re looking for an LGV Driver (Category C) to join our friendly Tarmac Pave team based in Leeds working a varying work pattern including overnight and weekend working. You will receive excellent remuneration and benefits and this role is easily commutable from Bradford, Huddersfield and the surrounding areas.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Duties will include the day-to-day operations in support of the site including:
  • Ensuring that the Lorry and ancillaries are checked regularly and that any defects noted and highlighted to Fitter and office.
  • Ensuring all mobile plant on various sites is refuelled ready for work.
  • Liaising with the Plant Coordinator to ensure stock levels of fuel, equipment and materials are maintained to ensure timely availability.
  • Ensuring that any journeys are undertaken safely and legally and that the loads checked and secure.
  • Ensuring that the journey is planned so that mobile plant equipment is refuelled and any materials arrive on site for the specified shift start time.
  • Liaising with the Plant Coordinator and Gang Foreman regularly and working together as a team.
  • Working safely and in conjunction with current Driving Regulations.
  • Complying with company standards and procedures – engaging with the Transport Manager who will check details, provide feedback and help with any driving issues.

What we’re looking for:

  • LGV (HGV) Class 2 licence.
  • A valid Digital Tacho Card.
  • A valid CPC Qualification Card.
  • Previous experience of refuelling mobile plant would be advantageous, although not essential.
  • Experience gained within similar role/heavy industry.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety policies and procedures.
  • A positive attitude to work, and be flexible and adaptable in their working approach.
  • Self-motivation and the ability to work both independently and as part of the wider team.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • ADR-Carriage of Dangerous Goods certification.
