This role sits within our UK Wastewater Services (UKWWS) team, supporting water utility companies by inspecting, maintaining, refurbishing and installing wastewater filtration and handling equipment across the UK.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our Heathfield / Portland‑based team, supporting projects predominantly across the South‑East. This is a customer‑facing, hands‑on role where you will manage engineering projects from initial enquiry through to completion, ensuring delivery is safe, compliant, on time and within budget. You will take ownership of project performance, customer relationships and field delivery, working closely with operational teams, suppliers and internal stakeholders. This role offers variety, responsibility and strong progression potential for an experienced engineering or M&E project professional.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Managing multiple engineering projects ranging from high‑volume / low‑value to high‑value / low‑volume
  • Leading the full project lifecycle, including quotations, approvals, delivery, invoicing, cost control and close‑out
  • Visiting customer sites, carrying out audits and overseeing field‑based technician teams
  • Acting as the primary point of contact for customers, owning relationships and communication
  • Planning work orders, resources, RAMS, programmes and critical paths
  • Managing suppliers, subcontractors and internal teams to meet delivery requirements
  • Conducting commercial project reviews and agreeing project terms (internal and external)
  • Monitoring cost, margin, profitability and performance across assigned projects
  • Identifying technical and commercial risks and implementing mitigation plans
  • Producing monthly KPI, performance and financial reports
  • Identifying and maximising sales opportunities through innovative engineering solutions
  • Working collaboratively with engineering, operations, commercial, proposals and delivery teams

About You

You will bring:

  • A current, valid UK driving licence
  • An engineering background (mechanical or electrical preferred)
  • Experience managing engineering or construction‑based projects
  • Knowledge of NEC3 / NEC4 contracts (desirable)
  • A proven track record delivering projects to challenging deadlines and budgets
  • Strong organisational and planning capability across multiple workstreams
  • Confident communication skills with the ability to engage customers and stakeholders
  • A proactive, collaborative approach and experience leading field‑based teams
