We’re looking for a highly driven Finance Manager – Contracting to join our regional finance team and play a pivotal role in shaping financial performance across the business. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced finance professional who thrives in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment and who can confidently influence senior stakeholders. You will act as a trusted business partner, offering insight, challenge, and support that drives meaningful commercial decisions and improves overall business outcomes.
As Finance Manager – Contracting, you will be responsible for delivering accurate, timely and insightful financial information that supports the strategic and operational performance of the region. You’ll lead key financial processes including month‑end reporting, forecasting, annual budgeting, capital expenditure evaluations and value chain analysis. You will also ensure full compliance with accounting policies and SOx controls while acting as an impartial and integrity‑driven advisor to the senior management team. Working closely with finance colleagues and commercial leaders, you’ll help drive consistency, clarity and a deep understanding of business performance across the contracting portfolio.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading the delivery of complete, accurate and timely regional financial reports, including month‑end results, forecasts and budgets
- Providing financial insight, challenge and advice to senior managers to support improved performance and decision‑making
- Supporting and reviewing CAPEX schedules, project evaluations and capital expenditure authorisations
- Driving value chain and contract margin analysis for a full end‑to‑end understanding of contract profitability
- Ensuring SOx‑compliant accounting information and adherence to company controls and governance frameworks
- Building strong working relationships with senior management teams, acting as a trusted business partner
- Overseeing the accuracy and integrity of regional accounting records, KPIs, assets and liabilities
- Providing analysis and insight that links financial reports to business strategy and identifies opportunities, risks and performance trends
- Leading or supporting ad‑hoc head office projects and continuous improvement initiatives
- Coaching and developing the Assistant Finance Business Partner (Midlands)
What the Ideal Candidate Looks Like
You’ll excel in this role if you are a skilled finance professional with strong commercial acumen, excellent communication skills, and the confidence to challenge and support senior leaders. We’re looking for someone who has:
- A qualification as an accountant (or equivalent experience) with proven operational finance expertise
- Solid financial accounting and reporting skills with the ability to deliver high‑quality, insightful analysis
- Experience in a complex or matrix‑managed environment
- Strong organisational and stakeholder‑management skills, with the ability to build credible working relationships at all levels
- The capability to drive process improvement and lead effective change
- Strong IT proficiency, with SAP/BW knowledge being an advantage
- A proactive mindset, a passion for adding value and a commitment to maintaining high standards of integrity, governance and performance
