The Role
We are looking for a driven and experienced National Warehouse Manager to lead and optimise warehouse operations across multiple UK sites. This is a high‑impact, national role requiring strong leadership, strategic thinking and the ability to drive operational excellence across geographically dispersed teams. You will be responsible for improving efficiency, stock accuracy and service levels while supporting Hydro’s UK operations and wider Tarmac supply chain. Regular UK travel and overnight stays will be required.
What You'll Be Responsible For
- Developing and delivering a strategic, multi‑site warehouse operations plan
- Setting performance objectives and tracking results across all UK warehouse locations
- Leading, motivating and developing warehouse teams nationally, including recruitment, training, coaching and performance reviews
- Improving inventory control, stock accuracy and use of warehouse management systems
- Managing the flow of goods between warehouses and operational teams
- Identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to drive efficiency and reduce costs
- Producing reports and analysing data to support operational and business decisions
- Managing warehouse budgets and controlling operational expenditure
- Working closely with HR to support workforce planning, development and engagement
- Enhancing service levels to support Hydro’s customers and the wider Tarmac business
About You
You’ll thrive in a fast‑paced, operational environment and bring:
- Proven experience in warehouse, logistics or supply chain management
- Strong leadership and people‑management capability
- Experience managing multiple sites and remote teams
- A background in a team lead or management role, ideally within equipment supply, construction or related industries
- Strong knowledge of inventory control and warehouse management systems
- Confident IT skills, including experience working with ERP systems
- A proactive, organised approach with the confidence to lead change
- Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel nationwide
