About The Role
Reporting into the Head of Category Management, the successful Category Manager β Logistics will be responsible for the management and control for all local spend in the category cluster of circa Β£300-350m. You will also develop and implement best practice strategies to deliver value, innovation and cost savings to the business whilst managing risk.
What You'll Be Doing
In this role, you as the successful Category Manager - Logistics will be carrying out the following duties and responsibilities (not exhaustive):
- Proactively engaging and influencing stakeholders including Excom, CRH Category Cluster teams and local cross functional teams to deliver sourcing initiatives.
- Owning the Logistics category end-to-end including Sustainability, Innovation, SRM and Contract Management; driving contract compliance and long term value-add and innovation.
- Be seen in Tarmac as the subject matter expert in category knowledge and be able to demonstrate in-depth knowledge & understanding of all areas of spend within the category cluster.
- Driving category cluster synergies across UK businesses and IRE cluster where applicable.
- Maximising the value of contracts through compliance activity, proactive business engagement and responsiveness to stakeholders.
- Driving the execution of CRH regional and global strategies.
- Driving procurement KPI performance management through contract management and create a culture of continuous improvement with tangible results.
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for a Category Manager - Logistics who is in possession of the following skills/attributes:
- Previous Category Management experience in Logistics would be advantageous, but not essential.
- Educated to a degree level in a business or technical discipline.
- Previous experience in category management, ideally in a multi-country organisation.
- Able to manage multiple projects across different parts of the organisation at the same time.
- Ideally MCIPS qualified.
- Experience in multiple industry sectors would be beneficial.
