At Tarmac, who you are matters. We are currently looking for a talented and motivated Grinding & Packing Plant Manager to join our Cement & Lime business at Tunstead Cement Plant.
This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of a critical operational area, leading the safe, efficient and reliable production, storage, packing and dispatch of cement products while driving performance, continuous improvement and operational excellence across the plant.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Production Manager, you will be responsible for the safe operation of the grinding plant, cement storage facilities, packing plant and dispatch operations. You'll work collaboratively across production, maintenance, quality, supply chain, logistics and commercial teams to ensure customer demand is met while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality and operational performance.
Leading a team of supervisors and operational personnel, you'll play a key role in delivering business objectives, developing people and driving a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Champion a safety-first culture, ensuring compliance with all company and CRH safety standards.
- Lead and develop a high-performing operational team, providing coaching, support and succession planning.
- Manage daily grinding, packing and dispatch activities to ensure customer requirements are met.
- Drive operational performance, efficiency, reliability and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate closely with maintenance teams to plan and execute maintenance activities and annual shutdowns.
- Manage plant budgets, cost control and expenditure tracking.
- Ensure raw materials and packaging supplies are available to support uninterrupted operations.
- Work collaboratively with quality, logistics, supply chain and commercial teams to optimise performance.
- Support the delivery of site improvement projects and new product introductions.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, suppliers and contractors.
