Are you organised, quick-thinking and great at juggling priorities? Join our team as a Readymix Shipper and play a vital role in ensuring customer orders are delivered safely, efficiently and on time. Based at our Birtley Regional Office, you'll be responsible for planning and coordinating deliveries, optimising fleet utilisation, monitoring real-time order progress and working closely with plants, hauliers and customers to deliver an excellent service.
What you'll be doing:
- Planning and scheduling customer orders to meet delivery requirements
- Optimising vehicle and fleet utilisation to control costs
- Monitoring deliveries and resolving issues proactively
- Liaising with plants to ensure materials are available for planned deliveries
- Managing haulage requirements and hired transport costs
- Providing customers with delivery updates and excellent service
- Building strong relationships with colleagues, hauliers and customers
Working Pattern: Monday - Friday, 7am – 5pm. Rotational Shift Pattern (7-4pm & 8-5pm) Saturday Mornings Rotational if required.
What we're looking for:
- Previous scheduling, distribution or logistics experience preferred
- Strong IT and system skills
- Commercial awareness and a customer-focused approach
- Ability to make informed decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Understanding of transport operations, fleet utilisation and industry processes
