Tarmac’s North & Scotland business is looking for a Finance Manager – Contracting & Asphalt to play a pivotal role in shaping financial performance, partnering with senior stakeholders, and driving strategic decision‑making. This is an exciting opportunity to join a respected industry leader and support major operational and commercial teams across the region.

As the Finance Manager – Contracting & Asphalt, you’ll be a key member of the North & Scotland Finance team. You’ll work closely with the Regional Head of Finance and Senior Leadership Team, providing high‑quality financial insight, ensuring accurate reporting, and influencing strategic outcomes. You’ll take ownership of month‑end performance, annual budgets, business planning cycles, CAPEX analysis and value‑chain profitability reviews. The role combines core financial control with business partnering—helping the regional team make informed, meaningful decisions.

In this varied and high‑impact role, you will:

  • Produce accurate, timely management information for senior leaders
  • Review regional trading performance, KPIs and variances, offering robust insight and challenge
  • Drive forecasting and budgeting processes across Contracting & Asphalt
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of accounting records, assets and liabilities
  • Lead SOx‑compliant reporting and maintain strong governance aligned with company policies
  • Partner with commercial and contracting teams on contract analysis and CVRs
  • Conduct value chain analysis and contract margin reviews to improve profitability
  • Present financial performance, risks and opportunities to senior stakeholders
  • Collaborate with operational, commercial and finance colleagues across the wider business
  • Support Performance Optimisation initiatives and capital investment tracking
  • Contribute to ad hoc projects at a regional or head office level

Experience & Qualifications
  • Qualified accountant (or qualified by experience) with strong operational finance background
  • Solid technical accounting skills and experience working in complex financial environments
  • Strong IT skills; SAP/BW experience is an advantage
