We are currently recruiting for an HR Manager to support our Aberthaw Cement Plant and Supply Chain & Logistics South operations. This is a highly visible and influential role, partnering with senior leaders across the business to deliver a proactive, commercially focused and people-centred HR service.

As part of our national Cement HR team, you'll play a key role in shaping and delivering our people agenda, ensuring best practice, compliance, employee engagement and organisational effectiveness across a diverse workforce. What You'll Be Doing

  • Delivering a high-quality HR service that supports both operational priorities and strategic business objectives
  • Partnering with leaders to implement people strategies, workforce planning initiatives and organisational effectiveness programmes
  • Managing complex employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, absence and capability cases
  • Building management capability through coaching, mentoring and practical HR support
  • Developing strong relationships with Trade Union representatives and supporting industrial relations activity, including pay negotiations
  • Leading organisational change programmes, restructures, consultations and transformation initiatives in a legally compliant and commercially focused manner
  • Driving employee engagement, communication and wellbeing initiatives across the business
  • Supporting recruitment, onboarding, talent management and succession planning activities to ensure strong talent pipelines
  • Identifying learning and development needs and supporting leadership teams to build future capability
  • Analysing HR metrics and people data to identify trends, recommend improvements and support informed business decision-making
  • Contributing to wider HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives across Tarmac's Cement operations

What We Are Looking For

We're looking for a commercially minded HR professional who can confidently influence stakeholders, navigate complex people challenges and build strong relationships across all levels of the organisation. You will ideally have:

  • Significant generalist HR experience within a manufacturing, industrial, engineering or similarly operational environment
  • Demonstrable experience managing complex employee relations cases and organisational change programmes
  • Experience working within a unionised environment and building productive relationships with Trade Union representatives
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment legislation and its practical application
  • Experience coaching and influencing managers and leaders at multiple organisational levels
  • A degree-level qualification, ideally in Business or a related discipline
  • CIPD Level 5 qualification (or currently studying towards it)
