Location: Northern England (Home Based)

At Tarmac, who you are matters. We’re looking for a driven and commercially minded Area Sales Manager to join our Cement team. This is a key role where you’ll manage customer relationships across your region, including major projects and national accounts, driving growth in both volume and revenue.

You’ll act as the voice of the customer within the business, ensuring their needs are understood and delivered, while proactively identifying new opportunities to grow our market share.

The role

  • Manage and develop relationships with key customers and stakeholders
  • Deliver against sales targets for volume, revenue and margin
  • Negotiate pricing and commercial agreements
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities
  • Provide technical and commercial support to customers
  • Work collaboratively with Operations, Logistics, Customer Service and Finance
  • Manage forecasting and contribute to budget planning
  • Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety and Competition law

What we’re looking for

You’ll be a confident and capable sales professional with:

  • Proven experience in account management, sales and negotiation
  • Strong commercial awareness and ability to drive results
  • Experience within cement, concrete or construction materials (desirable)
  • Ability to build relationships at all levels
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage a regional territory
  • Degree or equivalent experience
