Are you an experienced and dynamic Highways Maintenance Skilled Operative looking for your next position? We are seeking a skilled Highways Maintenance Operative to assist in delivering essential maintenance services across the London Borough of Waltham Forest. This practical, hands-on role includes a range of tasks such as reactive repairs, patching, winter service operations, and responding to emergency callouts.

The ideal candidate will hold a valid HGV (Category C) licence, a CPC Driver Qualification Card, a CPCS card for operating mini diggers, and a current NRSWA Operative card.

Main Responsibilities

Reporting to the Highways Supervisor, you will work collaboratively within your team as a Highways Maintenance Skilled Operative to achieve the best possible commercial outcomes for our projects. You will also play a key role in managing any challenge processes initiated by JB Rineys clients.

Day to day responsibilities for this role will include:

  • Carrying out reactive and planned maintenance tasks such as pothole repairs, patching, kerbing, drainage works, and minor civils
  • Undertaking emergency and out-of-hours call-out work on a rota basis
  • Participating in winter service operations, including salting and snow clearance using HGV gritting vehicles
