We are recruiting a Multi Skilled Operative (Nightshift) to join our Mountsorrel Asphalt Plant, ideally located for candidates commuting from Loughborough, Leicester, Melton Mowbray and surrounding areas. This role offers real variety, structured training, and development opportunities within a busy operational environment. Previous asphalt or plant experience is beneficial but not essential - we are more interested in your attitude, work ethic and willingness to learn.
Working hours - Rotating shift pattern 5pm - 3am, Monday to Friday plus every other Saturday
What You'll Be Doing
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you'll play a key role in the safe, efficient day-to-day running of the RAP Yard, contributing to production targets and high-quality outputs. Your responsibilities will include:
- Mixing asphalt to specification
- Production of RAP to specification
- Working collaboratively to deliver quality materials and on-time customer deliveries
- Weighbridge operations
- Operating mobile plant including loading shovel
- Supporting Supervisors with daily and weekly production targets
- Carrying out inspections, identifying defects and implementing remedial actions
- Assisting with planned and reactive plant maintenance
- Ensuring housekeeping standards are consistently high
- Actively promoting and operating to Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality standards
This is a hands-on, varied role suited to someone who enjoys operational responsibility and being part of a production-focused team.
