We are looking for a hands-on Mechanical Maintenance Fitter to join a high-performing engineering team at a busy asphalt plant in Cross Green, Leeds. If you thrive on fault-finding, keeping heavy plant running, and making a real impact on production performance, this is the role for you.
Hours: 48 hours week
Shift Pattern: 06:00 - 16:00 Monday to Friday plus overtime (some nights and weekend work)
This role is easily commutable from Leeds, Rothwell, Oulton, Garforth, Wetherby, Wakefield, Castleford, Pontefract, Bradford, Dewsbury, Halifax and surrounding areas.
What you'll be doing:
- Leading planned and reactive mechanical maintenance to minimise downtime
- Diagnosing faults across conveyors, motors, gearboxes, pumps, crushers & screening equipment
- Carrying out breakdown repairs quickly and safely to keep production on track
- Supporting continuous improvement and root cause analysis
- Undertaking welding and fabrication work to a strong standard
- Owning small projects and improving plant reliability
- Working with contractors and suppliers on-site
