We are currently looking for a permanent Head of Mechanical to join our team at Dunbar Cement Plant. This role is site based 5 days per week, Monday to Friday on a 37 hour week. Here at Tarmac, we are working hard to create a dynamic and inclusive environment, and it’s important that our people come from a variety of different backgrounds.
Role Responsibility
- Medium to long-term objectives of the Mechanical Maintenance department.
- Acting as a champion for engineering improvements and promoting best practices for the Plant.
- Managing and motivating the team, ensuring coordination and cooperation between Maintenance and other Plant departments.
- Identifying skills gaps within the team, building plans for development including 1-2-1s and PDPs, supporting longer term retention and succession planning.
- Ensuring completion of mechanical maintenance tasks with the highest level of safety, quality and effectiveness at minimum cost to maximise equipment availability, applying preventative and predictive maintenance practices which are measured and monitored using specific maintenance KPIs.
- Working closely with the engineering leadership team to define the medium and long-term strategy for the Plant maintenance.
