Are you an experienced and dynamic Stores Operator looking for your next position? We are currently looking for a Stores Operator at our Tunstead cement plant in Buxton, Derbyshire to support our Buxton cluster of sites. This is a key role supporting the smooth operation of our Tunstead stores, which hold a wide range of essential stock and spare parts. The Stores Operator is expected to be a team player with a flexible approach to work. They must be able to prioritise their own tasks effectively to ensure compliance with policies and procedures, support the Stores Team, and meet the needs of customers across the site.

Main Responsibilities

  • Supporting operations at the Buxton cluster of sites
  • Carrying out all operations for the Stores in line with the relevant rules, policies, procedures and regulations
  • Accuracy and control of all deliveries to the Stores and the distribution/delivery/collection of items around the sites
  • Maintaining housekeeping and tidiness within the Stores, ensuring all items are stored correctly
  • Receiving and goods-receipting deliveries
  • Managing stock and spares information records
  • Ensuring delivered stock items are promptly and accurately put away in their assigned locations
  • Organising and planning picking activities to ensure required items are available when needed
  • Logging all picked items in SAP to maintain up-to-date and accurate stock records
  • Delivering and collecting items, parcels and post

The Ideal Candidate

  • Relevant and up to date Forklift Operators Licence
  • Driving License
  • At least 2 years of experience in Warehouse Operations including use of Forklifts
  • Lifting, slinging and transport of heavy objects
  • Competent in using Microsoft Office
  • Familiarity with SAP or equivalent

The role is based at our Tunstead site in Buxton, Derbyshire. The site is easily accessible from Macclesfield, Sheffield, Matlock, Chesterfield, Rotherham, Huddersfield, Oldham, Stockport, Warrington and the surrounding areas.
