We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Maintenance Fitter to join our friendly maintenance team at our Elstow Block Plant, located close to Elstow in Bedfordshire. The site is easily accessible from Bedford, Kempston, Wixams, Ampthill, Flitwick, Biggleswade, Sandy, Milton Keynes, Luton, Dunstable, St Neots, and the surrounding areas.

Our Elstow Plant manufactures sustainable, tough and energy-efficient aerated blocks that we see all around us whether in our homes or workplaces, you are never too far away from one of our products.

Main Responsibilities

As our Mechanical Maintenance Fitter, you will be responsible for undertaking plant maintenance, repairs and improvements to ensure maximum reliability of all plant equipment, while supporting team members in all aspects of plant operation.

  • Responding to plant breakdowns and ensuring efficient repair of equipment, minimising downtime while following the maintenance plan and all Safety, Health and Environmental standards.
  • Continuously improving plant performance while maintaining safety, maintenance and asset reliability.
