Were looking for a proactive, hands-on Engineering Team Leader - Nights to join our team at our Alfreton site. This is a practical, shop-floor-focused leadership role where youll oversee a team of Maintenance Fitters, driving high maintenance standards and supporting a strong preventative maintenance culture.
As a key member of the engineering team, youll help reduce downtime, improve equipment reliability, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
Key Responsibilities- Lead, support, and mentor a team of Maintenance Fitters in day-to-day maintenance activities.
- Champion a preventative maintenance approach, ensuring proactive servicing and inspections.
- Be a visible, hands-on presence on the shop floor assisting with fault finding, repairs, and machinery installation.
- Plan and oversee weekly maintenance schedules in coordination with production.
- Support the planning and delivery of site shutdowns, statutory inspections, and compliance activities.
- Work closely with the Maintenance Coordinator to align materials, tools, resources, and manpower.
- Manage and supervise contractors, ensuring safe working practices and compliance.
