About the Role
Tarmac, the UK's leading sustainable construction materials business, is looking for a Mobile Maintenance Electrician to support our Readymix production sites across the Midlands. You’ll have a home base at Lockington near Derby, travelling to multiple RMX plants across the region. This is a days-based, Monday-Friday role, with overtime and on-call to support production when needed.

This role is easily commutable from Derby, Burton, Tamworth, Lichfield, Cannock, Stafford, Birmingham, Wolverhampton, Nottingham and surrounding areas.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Fault-finding, repairing and maintaining industrial electrical plant
- Responding to breakdowns and keeping downtime to a minimum
- Driving continuous improvement and asset reliability
- Working with PLC systems, drives and motors
- Updating and using the CMMS
- Supporting safe, efficient production across multiple sites
What We’re Looking For
You’ll be a practical, safety-focused electrician with experience in heavy industry, ideally within Readymix, cement, quarrying or similar environments.
Key Requirements:
- 18th Edition (BS7671)
- NVQ Level 3 / Apprenticeship / ONC in Electrical Engineering
- Experience with LV systems, PLCs, AC drives & motors
- Predictive / proactive maintenance mindset
- Comfortable working on mobile plant sites
- Full UK driving licence (max 6 points)
Experience with CMMS, TPM, RCA/FMEA and inspection & testing is highly desirable.
