We are currently seeking a skilled and safety-driven Excavator Operative to join our high-performing team at Clitheroe Quarry. This is a critical, hands-on role within a busy quarry operation where precision, safety, and operational excellence are essential. If you have proven experience operating excavators in demanding environments and a strong understanding of geotechnical safety and ground stability then this is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a leading aggregates operation. This role is commutable from Accrington, Blackburn, Burnley, Skipton and surrounding areas.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Reporting to the Section Manager, you will play a key role in delivering production targets while maintaining the highest standards of Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality performance.
  • Operating a 360° tracked excavator (up to 50 tonnes) on blast piles and quarry faces.
  • Safely scaling and managing rock faces in line with geotechnical best practice.
  • Loading a mobile crusher efficiently to meet production and customer requirements.
  • Supporting daily and weekly production targets.
  • Carrying out plant inspections, reporting defects and supporting maintenance activities.
  • Operating additional mobile plant as required.
  • Maintaining excellent housekeeping standards across site.
  • Ensuring full compliance with all Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality standards.

What We're Looking For

  • A proactive and safety focused individual with strong operational experience within a quarrying, mining or heavy plant environment.
  • A valid Excavator Licence (essential).
  • Proven experience operating excavators on quarry faces, tips or similar environments.
  • Strong understanding of ground stability and geotechnical risk management.
  • A safety first mindset and ability to work effectively in challenging conditions.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach.
  • Flexibility and a positive, self-motivated attitude.
  • Shovel licence (advantageous).
  • Experience operating a range of mobile plant (preferred).
  • Exposure to aggregates or asphalt production environments (advantageous).
