About the Role
Reporting into the Finance Manager, the successful Assistant Accountant will support the team in partnering with key business stakeholders on specific focus areas. You will contribute to the provision and reporting of effective financial information and management accounting at each month end and through the month as required.
What you’ll be doing
- Working on the preparation of and posting of journals
- Supporting the team in delivering month end close
- Completing high-quality balance sheet reconciliations in accordance with guidelines and timetables
- Working closely with business unit finance teams; ensuring full understanding and documentation of any balances
- Assisting with the quarterly Balance Sheet Reviews with business unit finance
- Reviewing journals and balance sheet reconciliations
- Supporting both internal and external audits
What we are looking for
- Able to deal with large quantities of complex data with Microsoft Excel skills essential
- Can demonstrate a good understanding of accounting principles
- Have a good knowledge of accounting and financial systems
- Able to work to tight deadlines and elevate issues confidently
