We are expanding our Engineering Project Management team in the North and Scotland region so actively recruiting for an Electrical Project Engineer to join our Engineering team supporting our operational business across the region. The region covers from North Wales over to North Lincolnshire, up through Northern England into Scotland covering approximately 120 operational sites within the Aggregates and Asphalt and Ready Mix businesses. Whether youre based in Wrexham, Chesterfield, Lincoln, Manchester, Leeds, Hull, York, Carlisle, Newcastle upon Tyne, Glasgow or Edinburgh, if you have the appropriate skills and experience then this could be the role for you! As Electrical Project Engineer you will provide best in class electrical engineering and project management services to the operating business and innovate cost effective solutions in a consistent manner throughout the business ensuring the company electrical standards meet minimum legal requirements, CRH lifesaving rules and are cost effective and comply with any legislation changes. Main Responsibilities Reporting to the Senior Engineering Project Manager the role of Electrical Project Engineer will be responsible for providing best in class electrical engineering and project management services to the operating business. This is not a typical maintenance engineering role you could be implementing a HV or LV upgrade, a control system upgrade or perhaps a turnkey operation for a processing plant from cradle to grave. Whatever the PM services, you will be responsible for innovating cost effective solutions in a consistent manner throughout the region. With the role of Electrical Project Engineer you will also: Be responsible for the Statutory Electrical Maintenance within your region within Tarmac Support project managers by providing electrical designs cost estimates and drawings for capital projects and support operational staff with electrical maintenance and improvements within operational sites Manage and ensure company electrical standards, site electrical maintenance schemes and electrical procedures are compliant and adhere to all CRH and legislative requirements Appoint and approve electrical competent staff and support contractor companies for electrical work within Tarmac ensuring they operate and work to the correct level of competency and compliance with best practice engineering procedures Ensure projects are designed to achieve the lowest cost of ownership possible, through the whole life of the asset Develop relationships with key stakeholders, identifying opportunities for cost saving projects, developing solutions and driving forward implementation Support plant development and automation including energy reduction programs Support Tarmac electrical staff (electricians & apprentices) in their personal skills and professional development The Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate for the role of Electrical Project Engineer will possess a strong background in electrical engineering preferably working on sites in the concrete, aggregate, asphalt or sand and gravel sector. Alternatively, you may have in depth experience delivering an operational engineering role within an industrial, heavy plant or manufacturing sector. Suitable candidates will also have: Electrical Engineering Qualifications including 17th Edition Wiring Regs essential (18th Edition preferred) Electrical Degree (or working towards within 2yrs) preferred Good knowledge and understanding of Quarries Regulations 1999 Project Management process knowledge and experience Working knowledge of HV and LV installations, Earthing studies, MCC and VSD standards Ability to estimate and scope work Proven ability to collaborate and strong self-awareness Proven resilience Ability to manage complex situations in a resourceful manner Commitment to ensures accountability and passion to develop talent across the region Knowledge of PLC control and automation This is a mobile role, covering the North and Scotland region. A company car is provided so a full UK driving licence is required.
