We’re looking for an Engineering Project Manager to manage investment projects that support the supply of Aggregates and Ready‑Mix Concrete (RMX). You’ll work closely with Operational Management, Finance, Procurement, Estates & Geology, National Accounts, Operational Excellence, contractors and regulators to ensure projects are safe, efficient and deliver long‑term value.

Responsibilities

  • Manage engineering projects, promote a zero‑harm culture and ensure full compliance with Tarmac HSE policies and all legislative requirements.
  • Apply strong knowledge of CDM regulations and proactively manage the client/principal contractor relationship.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support capability development through training, mentoring and coaching to ensure projects are designed for safe, efficient and low‑cost operation.
  • Use project management and engineering expertise to identify cost‑saving opportunities and develop innovative solutions.
  • Apply value engineering principles and ensure engineering best practice is followed across all project stages.
  • Drive the implementation of best‑practice engineering solutions and ensure compliance with all standards and procedures.
  • Deliver and manage area and regional action plans to support improved operational performance.
  • Contribute to the delivery of strategic initiatives aimed at driving operational excellence across the business.

Qualifications

  • Strong project management skills and experience delivering engineering or infrastructure projects.
  • Ability to drive change using lean or performance‑based approaches.
  • Experience with contract placement and contractor management.
  • Commercial awareness and strong financial understanding.
  • Ability to manage complexity and competing priorities.
  • Knowledge of construction materials, products and processes.
  • IT literacy and ability to read technical drawings/CAD.
  • Engineering degree or equivalent (desirable).
  • AutoCAD experience.
