Job DescriptionRoad Surfacing Operative - Cross GreenLocation: Cross Green, Leeds, West YorkshireExperienced in road surfacing? Confident operating surfacing plant? Looking for steady work across major highways projects? If so, this could be the role for you.We're looking for a Multi Skilled Road Surfacing Operative to join our friendly team based out of Tarmac Cross Green, Leeds , covering Yorkshire and the surrounding region. This is a hands on, safety critical role delivering high quality surfacing on some of the area's most important infrastructure projects.What you'll be doingReporting to the Gang Supervisor , you'll be a key part of a multi-skilled surfacing team delivering works safely, efficiently and to specification. Your role will include:Operating road surfacing plant and equipment such as pavers, rollers, tractors, chippers and associated machineryWorking with hot coated materials on live construction and highways environmentsLaying coated materials in line with
specifications and BS tolerancesCarrying out day-to-day plant checks and basic maintenanceMaintaining excellent housekeeping standardsPlaying an active role in zero harm, behavioural safety and site compliancePromoting safe working practices and challenging unsafe behaviours on siteWhat we're looking forYou'll already have practical experience within road surfacing laying coated materials ideally across highways environments such as motorways, 'A' roads and airfields. Suitable candidates will have:Previous experience in asphalt laying and road surfacingProven ability to operate surfacing plant, with relevant plant ticketsExperience working on larger infrastructure or motorway projectsCSCS card (preferred)Full UK driving licenceAbility to work both independently and as part of a gangGood communication skills and a proactive, hands on attitudeFlexible approach to working hours and locationsStrong commitment to Health, Safety, Environment and Quality standardsLocation: this role is easily
