What You'll Be Doing

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the successful Shift Electrician will be a key member of the Cement plant shift team. You will monitor the automated performance of the pre-heater, kiln feeder, rotary kiln burner, calciner, exhaust gases, emissions and cooler processes by using the on-site FLS and TDM systems. On a day-to-day basis, your key responsibilities will include (but aren't limited to):

  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant statutory legislation and company Safety, Health and Environmental standards
  • Carrying out designated plant safety and maintenance inspections and developing safe systems of work such as method statements, risk assessments and dynamic point of work risk assessment
  • Carrying out electrical fault finding, maintenance and repair work to support the team and deliver team performance targets
  • Recording maintenance activities and work requests through SAP/CMMS planned maintenance system
  • Assisting in the commissioning of new plant and equipment

What We're Looking For

Ideally, you will:

  • Hold an HNC/D Electrical or equivalent
  • Have a positive and proactive approach to Health & Safety and Environment with a willingness to challenge unsafe acts
  • Have strong technical knowledge of electrical equipment combined with heavy industrial plant experience

Please note that plant operations run on a 24/7, 365 basis and this role will require flexibility to ensure the plant runs effectively. This will, at times, involve night working, weekends and bank holidays.
