We are looking for a Multi Skilled Operative to join our friendly team based at Sandy Heath Quarry, Sandy Heath, Bedfordshire, SG19 2NW.

Main ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Section Manager, the role of Multi Skilled Operative is part of a key team of Operatives producing dry aggregates material for the construction industry. As well as delivering best in class Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality performance for our Plant operations, as Multi Skilled Operative you will specifically focus on operational tasks including:
- Working with aggregates on site and operating machinery and mobile plant (including loading shovels)
- Weighbridge duties
- Day to day maintenance of the plant, maintaining the highest levels of housekeeping
- Training and operation on static plant operations to help drive plant optimisation
- Working as part of a small team to ensure customers get good quality material and on-time deliveries
- Ensuring that Plant availability is maximised
- Assisting the Section Manager with meeting daily/weekly production targets
- Maintaining and driving a culture of zero harm and behavioural safety
- Compliance and awareness of Health and Safety measures around the site
The ideal candidate for the role of Multi Skilled Operative will be able to demonstrate proven experience preferably working within a similar aggregates environment or an Industrial or Factory environment as an Operative or Labourer. As part of an operational team, suitable candidates for the role of Multi Skilled Operative will also demonstrate:
- Experience working within a Health and Safety based environment
- Good timekeeping and time management
- Experience of operating mobile plant including Loading Shovel (preferred)
- Working knowledge of Risk Assessments (ideally within the role of Operative)
- Flexible attitude and willingness to work as part of an effective Multi-Skilled Operational team, adapting to different tasks within the overall team
- Self-motivated approach and ability to successfully engage with and motivate other colleagues
- Good communication skills
- Knowledge and experience of the industry, mobile plant and quarrying (advantageous but not essential as training can be given to the successful candidate)
- Full UK Driving Licence
- IT literate
- Essential licenses required: ADT dumper truck licence, Wheeled loading shovel licence
